    What is Speed Testing?
    – Speed testing is a simple test you can perform online that measures the speed that your computer is sending and receiving packets of information from the Internet.

    DSL Connections
    If you are experiencing difficulty with your DSL connection, please visit our MODEMS page. Troubleshooting varies by modem, so you’ll need to choose the modem you have to get the most accurate troubleshooting tips.
     

     
    Spyware and Virus Scanning
    It is always recommended to have a virus and spyware program on your computer. The Internet is full of opportunities to inadvertently download a virus or spyware. One of the most dangerous types of viruses is a “Trojan Horse,” as it inhabits on your computer and infects all files, whether they’re online or or offline. This could be a reason as to why your computer appears sluggish or has difficulty downloading pages or documents from the Internet.

    There are many types of virus and spyware-preventing software available online and at computer stores.

     

     

    Setting Up Your Email Using Outlook or Outlook Express 

    From your computer’s start menu, open Outlook.
    -At the top of the page, click on the “Tools” menu option.
    -Choose “E-mail Accounts” from the “Tools” menu.
    -Click on “Mail,” and then “Add.”
    -Enter the name that you would like displayed when someone receives an e-mail from you in the “Display Name” field. Most people use their first and last names.
    -Choose the POP 3 server type. Server type is a POP 3.
    -In the Outgoing Server Name field, enter: post.camtel.net
    -In the Incoming Server Name field, enter: post.camtel.net
    -You will be prompted to enter your username and password. This was set up for you when you initiated Internet service.
    -Click Finish to complete the process and begin using your email.
     

     
    Connecting Your Game Console
    To use both your personal computer and any game console with Cameron Communications High Speed Internet you will need to set up a home network. Routers are best to use, which allows you to use multiple consoles via one High Speed Internet connection.
     

     
    Getting Your Camtel.net Email on Your Smartphone

    To receive your camtel.net email on your smartphone, you will first need to locate the option to add a new email address in your settings menu. Remember, you can alternatly access your email through https://mail.camtel.net. **If you forget your camtel.net email password, please call 800-737-3900 to have it reset.
     
    You will need this information on hand about your camtel.net email address:
    Camtel (Incoming email server):
    -POP3 server: post.camtel.net
    -User name: First part of your email address (leave off the “@camtel.net”)
    -Password: password for your email account.
     

    For your AT&T and Cingular Smartphones:
    -Outgoing Email Server
    · SMTP server: cwmx.com
    · Username: (leave blank)
    · Password: (leave blank)
     
    For your Sprint PCS Smartphone:
    -Outgoing Email Server
    · SMTP Server: smtp.sprintpcs.com
    · Username: Your PCS Vision Email username
    · Password: Your PCS Vision Email password
    Note: If you do not have your sprint information, you will need to contact Sprint Support for to get that information.
     
    For your T-Mobile Smartphone:
    -Outgoing Email Server
    · SMTP Server: myemail.t-mobile.com
    · Username: None
    · Password: None
     
    For your Verizon Smartphone:
    Unfortunately, Verizon customers can only access email through webmail.
